__ Programs: Introduce a speaker, host a guest speaker for a night, help plant vendors
set up before meetings. __ Facilities: Help set up chairs for monthly meetings. __ Refreshments: Provide refreshments for meetings. Several people contribute each month. __ Newsletter: Contribute articles, proofread monthly newsletter. __ September Plant Sale: Help organize, set up, clean up, or take money. __ Open Gardens: Help organize the sumer open garden tours. Help select gardens, write articles for the newsletter about the gardens, or distribute signs to the garden owners. __ Salem Heights Community Hall Landscape Maintenance: Various seasonal activities. |
The Salem Hardy Plant Society has roots in the Hardy Plant Society of Great Britain and the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon. It is, however, a separate organization run by local volunteers. It was formed in 1997 in response to the members of HPSO who lived in the Salem Area and wanted more activities closer to home.
