A finial predrilled with a 5/8" hole

  1. Assemble base using a punch, starting at the center tee and working out. Do not attach feet with ells at this time.
  2. Attach top tee to post and punch in place.
  3. Attach post to center tee in base. (Hang the structure over a table comer or the like to get to the center tee).
  4. Punch legs into four ells. Attach the legs to the four ends of the base and punch into place. Legs may be angled in if the structure is to be used in a pot.
  5. Put coil of soft copper into top tee, spring out the spiral, even out and shape the loops. This joint will probably need to be soldered.
  6. Place ball on top and glue in place as needed. Use a heavy construction adhesive or a hot melt glue gun.
